Jacksonville College Inducts New Phi Theta Kappa Members
Jacksonville College is pleased to announce the 2024-2025 induction of new members into the local Alpha Beta Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK). PTK welcomed twenty one new members from Jacksonville College this school year.
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society that serves to recognize and encourage academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership, and service programming. The Jacksonville College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Beta Alpha, was chartered in 1975 with 14 charter members.
The inductees for the Fall 2024 semester are Harrison Blaylock, Mattie Burns, Juan David Echeverri, Juan Felipe Echeverri, Laurie Gentry, Broderick Ghiringhelli, Jordyn Herring, Stephon Nickerson, Graycen Vargo, and Silvio Xavier De Morais. The inductees for the Spring 2025 semester are Andres Rodriguez, Brittany Danas, Bryanna Danas, Linda Dickey, Joao Ferreira, Ella Frisinger, Fellipe Macacari, Maximiliano Torres, David Posso, Twyla Sandel, and Lucas Umeki.
These students were recognized in chapel on April 2nd for their achievement and enjoyed a new member lunch and induction ceremony afterward. The faculty advisor for the organization is Cathy Smith. Mrs. Smith, along with Jacksonville College faculty and staff, extend congratulations to all those inducted. More photos from the event may be viewed here.
